Here are some things to keep in mind to prevent sight-stealing glaucoma…

Glaucoma is a health problem that affects the eye. This condition can affect any age group. Glaucoma is the leading cause of blindness, mainly in people over the age of 60. Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness globally. In this context, various studies are being conducted to create awareness about glaucoma.

This disease is caused by abnormally high pressure in the eye. Vision loss caused by this can never be recovered. But early detection of this disease can slow or prevent vision loss. People with this condition require lifelong treatment. Intraocular pressure is caused by a build-up of fluid that flows throughout the inside of the eye.

This intraocular fluid usually has a mechanism to drain out of the eye. When the fluid cannot drain out, the pressure in the eye increases. Prolonged exposure to this high pressure can damage the optic nerve. Vision loss caused by this cannot be treated or reversed.

Very rarely, glaucoma can occur even if the pressure in the eye is normal. Symptoms include sudden onset of headache, eye pain, red eyes, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, and seeing rainbow colored rings around lights. Watch the video to know more about it.
