The Mahabharata War is a war in which Dharma won against violence. Lord Krishna never picked up a weapon and used it in the Kurukshetra war. Bhagavan had many destructive weapons but the most important of them was Bhagavan’s Sudarshana Chakra. Whoever takes the Sudarshana Chakra to carry him will return only after doing that.
According to some prophecies, when the Sudarshana Chakra rotates rapidly, heat is emitted from it and the enemies are reduced to ashes. There are many legends about the origin of Sudarshana Chakra. The Sudarshana Chakra is one of the three objects created by Vishwakarma for the glory of Sun God, the other two being the Pushpaka Vimana and the Trishul of Mahadeva.
According to another legend, it is said that Lord Mahadev gave the Sudarshana Chakra to Lord Vishnu and later on one occasion Lord Vishnu gave the Chakra to Goddess Parvati and later Lord Krishna gave the Sudarshana Chakra to Lord Vishnu. But there is also a legend that Sudarshana Chakra was received from the hand of Parasurama, one of the incarnations of Lord.
But let’s see what happened to this powerful weapon after Lord Krishna ascended Vaikuntha. There is a belief that Sri Krishna Chakra is also present on the ground where the Lord’s body was cast.
